Carolyn Anne Budgell

Carolyn fell into yoga in 1999, while living the ski bum dream in Whistler.

There's nowhere quite like Galiano, the sunniest and wildest of BC's Southern Gulf Islands, and Bodega Ridge makes the most of its natural charms.

The resort is seven self-contained log cabins and lodge on 22 beautiful acres of rural countryside at the island's quiet north end. Nestled at the base of the famous Bodega Ridge, the property offers magnificent views of Trincomali channel, the surrounding Gulf Islands and the Vancouver Island Mountains.

We've left things pretty much as nature intended. Take the gently sloping terrain at your leisure and discover spectacular meadows, arbutus trees, grape vines, fruit trees, orchids and wildflowers. The famous Bodega Ridge trail is at your doorstep and the views are well worth the hike. Or put your feet up and enjoy it all from your cabin's private deck.

A 10-minute stroll from the island's waterfront, these Dutch barn-style cabins set on 22 country acres are a 3.9-km drive from the sandy beaches at Dionisio Point Provincial Park, and 22.3 km from the ferry terminal in Sturdies Bay village.

Featuring rustic furnishings, wood-burning stoves and cedar decks, the 3-bedroom, log-interior cabins sleep up to 6 guests, and have full kitchens and en suite bathrooms with soaking tubs, plus free WiFi and flat-screen TVs with DVD players.

Amenities include a DVD lending library, and complimentary firewood and kindling. There's also event space and a dining hall for up to 70 guests.
